The miseries endured by American seamen during the Revolutionary War are documented in Captain Dring's account of his experience as a prisoner on the Jersey off the coast of Long Island – Daniel Aborn was the captured commanding captain. Originally published in 1829.
In the book Capt. Daniel Aborn is mentioned on pages 7, 118, 125, 126, 127, 134.
