SINGLETON and MARGARET ?.  He was born Apr 1862 in Tennessee.

 

Notes for MARTHA (MATTIE) JANE "MAW" GIDEON:

HISTORY: Enmumerated on 1900 Federal Census, Freestone Co., TX, ED 32, sheet 6, line 55. The census shows that she had two other children who died young, names not known. Mattie's obituary shows she had fourteen grandchildren, and seventeen Great-grandchildren. Mattie lived to be 100 years old.

 

HISTORY: It appears that Mattie took in her youngest brother Joseph Warren Gideon b. 2 Aug 1861 and her three half brothers William Morgan Gideon b. 7 Feb 1867 and twins George Washington Gideon and Murphy Webester "Murf" Gideon b. 1 Feb 1869. They are shown as living in her household in 1880 census. Joseph is also shown in her household in the 1900 census.
